All About Tampa Bay Rays 1st Baseman James Loney

By Tampa Bay Rays Staff Writer: R. Murray

All About Tampa Bay Rays 1st Baseman James Loney:

Tampa Bay Rays 1st Baseman James Loney has agreed to terms on a one-year deal for $2 million plus another $1 million in incentives AND it is finally official. Just a casual 3 million dollars, no big deal. So what are the Rays getting with their 1st Baseman James Loney? The Rays get a 28-year-old left-hander. The bad news is he is coming off a horrible 2012 season, with career lows in average (.249), homers (only six.. yikes), RBIs (41), on-base percentage (.293) and on-base plus slugging (.630). He was traded in the August mega-deal from the Dodgers, where he had spent his entire career, to the Red Sox. So are we lucky to have him? We'll see how the season progresses before we answer that.

1st Baseman Eric Hosmer's Time with the Kansas City Royals:

On December 3, 2012, Loney agreed to a one-year $2 million deal with the Tampa Bay Rays, and as we've seen, things have gone from there. Keep an eye out on 1st Baseman James Loney at the Tampa Bay Rays because we think he will do great things for our favorite team.
